In early 2026, Valentino released Born in Roma Donna Purple Melancholia and Born in Roma Uomo Purple Melancholia, new limited-edition flankers of the Born in Roma line. The originals launched in 2019 as modern reinterpretations of Valentino Donna (2015) and Valentino Uomo (2014). The Purple Melancholia editions draw inspiration from memories of a night spent in a Roman palace, introducing a darker, more reflective mood to the collection.
Born in Roma Uomo Purple Melancholia is an aromatic woody amber Eau de Toilette. The composition opens with cardamom, followed by creamy coconut and aromatic lavandin, before settling into a warm amberwood base. The fragrance is presented in a bold purple bottle, emphasizing its nocturnal and nostalgic character.
